This workshop will help cities understand how to apply for types of grants that allow communities, states, tribes and others to assess, safely clean up and sustainably reuse contaminated properties. Workshop Topics and Resources
Topic 1
Grant Overview and Federal Admin Priorities
Cities will develop foundational understanding of the Brownfields grant program criteria, project eligibility, and application requirements. Cities will also explore mapping tools and documents (SAM.gov, NOFO).
Topic 3
Incorporating Data
Cities will learn how to identify and navigate data tools to locate relevant quantitative and qualitative information on community needs. Cities will also apply data analysis techniques to interpret findings and translate them into clear, compelling insights that strengthen the grant narrative.
Topic 5
Writing and Packaging a Strong Grant
Cities will learn how to write a compelling grant narrative that synthesizes insights from data, engagement, and strategy and meets grants criteria.
