May 9, 2024

The Bipartisan infrastructure Law (BIL) allocates more than $500 million in funding to the Railroad Crossing Elimination (RCE) Grant Program and $5 billion to the Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) Program. The RCE and CRISI programs provide funding for highway-rail or pathway-rail grade crossing improvement projects that focus on improving the safety and mobility of people and goods, and projects that improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of intercity passenger and freight rail (respectively).
