The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law) of 2021 added $1.5 billion to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) annual brownfields appropriation to help return brownfields to productive use, and to train residents for brownfields jobs. EPA’s Brownfields Program collaborates with federal partners, state agencies, Tribal Nations and other EPA offices to provide direct funding for a variety of brownfield-related activities.
